Oshiire is a space for storing bedding and tools installed in the Japanese-style room. Although it is blindfolded by the sliding doors, the sliding doors are made of paper and regulate the humidity inside.
In English, it is translated as a closet, but strictly speaking, the closet puts clothes, but the Japanese closet “Ohiire” does not put clothes.
Also, Doraemon, a famous Japanese manga, slept in “Ohiire”.
押し入れは和室に設置された物入れで、寝具や道具などを収納するスペースです。襖によって目隠しされますが、襖は紙でできており内部の湿度を調節しています。
英語ではクローゼットと訳されますが、厳密にはクローゼットは洋服を入れますが、日本の押し入れはあまり洋服をつるしては入れません。
また、日本の有名なマンガのドラえもんは、押し入れの中で寝ていました。
