Kannon is officially called the Kannon Bodhisattva. It is a Buddhist god. According to one theory, Kannon is the figure before Buddha became enlightened. In Japan, Buddhas may line up next to Shinto gods, and Christmas trees and crosses may be displayed at Christmas.
観音さまは正式には観音菩薩といい、仏教の神様です。一説には観音さまは、釈迦（ブッダ）が悟りを開く前の姿だと言われています。日本では神道の神様の横に、仏教の仏様が並ぶ場合があり、さらにクリスマスにはクリスマスツリーや十字架が飾られることがあります。
