Tsukudani is a food boiled in soy sauce and sugar. It is made from small fish, shellfish such as clams, and seaweed such as kelp. It has a strong taste, so you can eat it with rice, with tea, or as a snack for sake. On the neighboring island, Shodoshima, Tsukudani made with local soy sauce is famous. Many of them can be stored for a long time, so if you like them, they are recommended as souvenirs.

【佃煮】TSUKUDANI

佃煮とは、醤油と砂糖で煮付けた食べ物です。小魚、アサリなどの貝類、昆布等の海藻類を材料に作ります。味が濃いので、ご飯と一緒に食べたり、お茶と一緒に食べたり、お酒のおつまみになります。隣の島の小豆島では、特産品の醤油を使った佃煮が有名です。長期保存が可能なものが多いので、気に入ったらお土産にオススメです。
