[Plum] UME

Ume is a deciduous tree that is a member of Sakura. It blooms at the end of winter. Although it is the name of a flower, its fruit is also called Ume. Plum fruits are harvested while they are blue and processed into pickled plums ‘Umeboshi‘. Umeboshi is a preserved food and is used as an ingredient for Rice balls and Ochazuke. It has a strong salty taste and is very sour, but please try it as a memory of your trip to Japan.
