An old folk house inn on a hill of the island
Tokuto renovated an old private house that was about 80 years old and started operations in the spring of 2021. The name “Tokuto” means “Tokuto” and “Tokuto (sufficiently in Japanese)” to relax.
It is an old folk house built on a large site built on a quaint Aji stone wall. You will be able to enjoy the atmosphere of a very calm mansion. The roof is decorated with the Onigawara of the Seven Lucky Gods. The transparent glass windows made by the old method and the very large lanterns of Teshima stone were very luxurious at that time.
Conveniently located about 5 minutes by car from Ieura Port, it is located on a hill overlooking the entire idyllic village, and beyond that you can enjoy a calm view of the Seto Inland Sea.
At night, you will be able to take a leisurely look at the stars and the moon rising from the mountains.
The inn consists of a “main building” and a “remote”, and the main building is “rented as a whole”. There are two “private rooms” where you can easily stay away. In the main building, there are Okudo-san (Kamado) and “IRORI (brazier)”, where you can enjoy the good old Japanese culture.
Behind the building, there are fields and abundant satoyama by recycling farming. Various small birds such as Japanese bush warblers, Japanese white-eyes, and Daurian Redstart come to the garden to play there.
We also recommend taking a walk in the quiet ponds nearby and the intricate alleys of the village. In addition, you can participate in various experience programs at Tokuto.
とくとは築約80年の古民家を改修し、2021年の春から営業を始めました。「とくと」というこの名前は、「特等席」のとくと、また、「とくと（十分に）」おくつろぎくださいとの想いを込め付けたものです。
趣ある庵治石の石垣の上の広い敷地にゆったりと構えられた古民家で、何より落ち着いた邸宅の風情を堪能いただけます。屋根には七福神の鬼瓦が装飾され、古い製法による透き通ったガラス窓、豊島石のとても大きな灯篭など、当時の贅を凝らした建築をお楽しみください。
家浦港から車で約5分の便利な立地で、のどかな集落全体が見渡せる高台に位置しており、その先には穏やかな瀬戸内海の眺望が拡がります。
また、夜には星空や奥の山から昇る月をのんびりと眺めることができるでしょう。
建物は、母屋と離れからなり、母屋は一棟貸し。離れは気軽に泊まれる個室が二つあります。母屋には、おくどさん（釜戸）と囲炉裏があり、古き良き日本の文化が楽しめます。
建物の背後には循環型農法を取り入れた畑と豊かな里山が広がり、ウグイス、メジロ、ジョウビタキなど様々な小鳥たちが庭に遊びにやってきます。
また、すぐ近くの静かなため池や、集落の入り組んだ路地も散策におすすめです。さらに、とくとでは様々な体験プログラムに参加していただけます
