This wood carving statue is a souvenir from Hokkaido. It does not belong to Teshima. When someone traveled to Hokkaido, they bought us a wood carving bear or an Ainu wood carving. So in the olden days, most homes had similar statues.
この木彫りの像は北海道のお土産です。豊島のものではありませんが、誰かが北海道旅行をすると記念に木彫りの熊か、アイヌ民族の木彫りを購入してきました。ですから昔は大抵の家に、同じような像が飾られていました。
