Saobuchi Tenjo is a Japanese-style room ceiling construction method in which a thin crossbar called a “pole rim” is passed over a wooden frame suspended from the ceiling, and a ceiling board is placed on it. By creating a layer of air on the ceiling, it provides heat insulation and humidity control.
竿縁天井（さおぶちてんじょう）とは、天井から吊り下げた木の枠組みに「竿縁」と呼ばれる細い横木を渡し、そこに天井板を乗せた和室の天井の工法です。天井に空気の層を作ることで、断熱や湿度調節を行います。
