[Mandarin] MIKAN

Mandarin is also famous in Teshima. The area on the south side of the island is covered with large Mandarin vineyards. Setouchi, which has a warm climate, is famous for producing Mandarin. Mandarin in Japan has a thinner outer skin than oranges, so you can eat it as it is by peeling the outer skin. It is not as sweet as orange, but it is well-balanced with sourness. Mandarin oranges are in season from December to February.

【ミカン】MIKAN

豊島はミカンも有名です。島の南側のエリアには、広いミカン畑が広がっています。温暖な気候の瀬戸内は、ミカンの産地です。日本のミカンはオレンジより薄い皮で、外の皮を剥くとそのまま食べられます。オレンジほど甘みはないですが、酸味とのバランスが好評です。ミカンの旬は12月から2月くらいまで。
